Video Production Edinburgh – Community Partner Network – Heriot Watt

I was asked by the Community Partner Network to produce a video covering an event they were involved with at Heriot Watt University. The CPN help universities engage with public organisations. Community partners and academics from across the UK came together to think about ways of building community university partnership resilience. They agreed 3 priority actions to strengthen community partner engagement: establish a UK Community Partner Network, develop a community partner ‘sat nav’ and shift the culture.

We did pieces to camera with both the academic and public exhibitors to get a good range of feedback about the project. I used the best answers throughout the video. As I shot this myself without a boom operator I used a cardioid lapel microphone to limit as much of the background noise as possible as most of the filming was done in a large busy hall. For lighting I used a battery powered  LED panel which was ideal as its so quick to set up and you can dial in the colour temperature.
