FX6 Camera Operator – 2023 recap.

As we usher in a new year, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the projects that filled my calendar in 2023. Armed with my trusty Sony FX6 and A7S3, I embarked on a whirlwind of adventures, from the deserts of Saudi Arabia to the lush landscapes of Scotland, and even the bustling streets of Brussels.

The year kicked off with an assignment alongside OR Media in Saudi Arabia. Exploring the mesmerizing desert landscapes and immersing myself in the vibrant culture was a true privilege. The combination of my Sony FX6 and A7S3 allowed me to capture the rich colors and intricate details of this captivating region. The footage we gathered truly transported viewers to this unique part of the world, setting the tone for an incredible year ahead.

Preserving Scotland’s Beauty with the National Trust: From the arid beauty of Saudi Arabia, I transitioned to the verdant landscapes of Scotland, working closely with the National Trust. My mission was to showcase the natural splendor and historical significance of Glenfinnan. Whether it was capturing the tranquil Loch Shiel or the iconic Glenfinnan Viaduct, my cameras faithfully translated the region’s essence into stunning visuals. Later in the year, we ventured to Corrieshalloch Gorge, where the power of nature came to life through our lenses.

Marching into Brussels for Radisson Hotels with WeAreSeven: In March, the bustling cityscape of Brussels beckoned as we collaborated with WeAreSeven to create captivating content for Radisson Hotels. The city’s vibrant atmosphere and the elegance of Radisson’s accommodations provided a perfect backdrop for our work. The flexibility of the Sony FX6 and A7S3 was once again evident, allowing us to adapt seamlessly to different shooting conditions.

A Year Full of Diverse Projects: Beyond these marquee assignments, 2023 brought a wealth of opportunities. I had the privilege to work on projects like “Wild Britain,” “This Farming Life,” “Sassenach Gin,” “Orbital Marine Power,” “Visit Scotland,” “Genesis,” and “Action for Children.” Each project presented its own unique challenges and rewards, further honing my skills and expanding my portfolio.

The coming year promises a blend of paid assignments and personal projects, each offering a chance to explore new creative horizons. Whether it’s capturing the rugged beauty of the Highlands, delving into documentary storytelling, or experimenting with cinematic techniques.

With new challenges and opportunities on the horizon, I’m eager to continue my journey as a camera operator, striving to bring the world’s beauty to life through the power of visual storytelling. Thank you to everyone who joined me on this journey.
